Arkema takes part in MEDTEC China 2012 with its technical polymers for medical equipment

- Press release
Products
Arkema will present its comprehensive range of polyamide polymers dedicated to medical applications at the eighth edition of MEDTEC China which will open its doors to the medical industry at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center on September 26 and 27.

Arkema polyamides are used extensively in vascular catheters and balloons, dental floss, breathing equipment, and more.

Pebax® SA MED polyether block amides are modified with soft segments resulting in flexibility well suited for medical tubing and balloons. Pebax® SA MED grades have become an industry standard in cardiovascular devices, including percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) catheters.

Rilsan® MED polyamide 11 and Rilsamid® MED polyamide 12 are materials of choice for medical tubing and balloons in which pushability and burst strength are primary considerations, while still maintaining sufficient flexibility and elongation. Rilsan® MED and Rilsamid® MED are easy to process through extrusion, blow molding, injection, and rotomolding. Rilsan® MED is particularly highly prized for its ductility and burst pressure properties.

Rilsan® Clear transparent polyamides allow for visibility of fluids or other components for medical tube accessories, and improved aesthetics for hearing systems and breathing equipment.
