Women’s football : Arkema launches its World Cup
It has been over a year since Arkema became the first National Supporter of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, France 2019™. After a first try-out during the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup France 2018, Arkema saw things big for the month to come.
The Caravan’Arkema, specially created for the World Cup, is the combination of an itinerary showroom, a perfect replica of L’atelier 4.20
based in Arkema’s Headquarters in Colombes (92), and of a football arena. Dedicated to a large audience, our aim is to give a good understanding and vision of Arkema’s chemistry through small workshops, and propose sporting activities thanks to a unique football experience in the arena.
During an entire month, the caravan will travel throughout France to visit some of the Group’s sites, as well as the FIFA Fan Experience of host cities.
The First Chat Bot dedicated to a FIFA World Cup
With the concept of innovation always in mind, Arkema has also decided to be innovative in its sponsoring activity, in particular by developing the first ever Chat Bot for an official FIFA competition.
If you don’t want to miss anything about the competition (news about the teams and the matches, tickets, match planning, videos, ect) and win some prizes by participating to our online game, go on your Facebook Messenger and ask it all to our Chat Bot.
Gaëtane Thiney printed in 3D
In parallel to the FIFA Women’s World Cup, France 2019 ™, Arkema has chosen Gaëtane Thiney, one of the figureheads of the French national football team, as the Company's ambassador. Gaëtane perfectly matches our values and enables us to gain in visibility on social media, but also in an unusual way.
Indeed, Arkema has decided to create a 3D-printed statue of the mid-fielder, produced with our material, N3xtDimension® by Arkema! Carried out with the help of our partner, this statue is a perfect example of how our materials can be used in our sponsoring activity, not quite unlike what has already been done in Arkema's sailing sponsorship.
A real engagement of the entire Group
The sponsoring of the FIFA Women’s World Cup is also a good opportunity for everyone to take part of the celebrations. All of the French sites are being decked out in the colors of the competition and many events are being organized. Target-football activity, table-football tournament, game broadcastings, prediction tournament and game-contests to win tickets and goodies: all of Arkema Group will live to the rhythm of the competition. Even in Asia, in the USA or in Brazil, activities will take place to celebrate women’s football!
Some sites have also decided to use this partnership to sponsor female sections of local football clubs. For instance, the GRL (Groupement de Recherche de Lacq) sponsors the FC Gan and invites 50 of its players to the match France-Norway in Nice. Three clubs near our research center based in Serquigny (27) will also benefit from tickets to watch games in Le Havre.
In New York, the Group has also decided to sponsor the local female team, in particular by offering them training equipment.
A solidarity commitment
Arkema has become a partner of Sport dans la Ville, an association which aims to promote the social and professional integration of young people from disadvantaged districts through the introduction of sporting and cultural activities. 6,500 young people are concerned by this action.
A program called “L dans la Ville” is dedicated to 1,000 girls and offers them sporting activities, cultural visits, outings on the theme of “discovery”, visits to businesses, and training workshops to give them the same opportunities of success as boys, and encourage their development as well as social and professional integration.
Moreover, Sport dans la Ville will also be the organizer of Street Football World Festival 19, a major international charity tournament that will be held to coincide with the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 in Lyon in early July. As national supporter of the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019, Arkema decided to support the general interest missions of the Sport dans la Ville association, in particular by sponsoring this international charity championship event that will benefit 400 participants including 300 young people from around the world.
Finally, Arkema has offered to the young people of the association a hundred tickets to the opening match, France-South Korea on June 7th at the Parc des Princes.
