Arkema sites in Germany put solidarity into action by rallying round neighbouring communities affected by the exceptional weather conditions in June

On June 9, 2013, Germany experienced the worst flooding in over ten years and declared the event a « national disaster ». Many facilities suffered extensive damage and thousands of people had to be evacuated.
All Arkema sites joined forces to provide help and assistance to the people living in their vicinity:
- After securing the facilities and production plants, the fire services of the Arkema Günzburg site offered their help to the people living close by for over 100 hours.
- Employees from the Vastorf (Niedersachsen) and Zwickau (Sachsen) sites also volunteered to join the teams of firemen in their region over a number of days in order to provide assistance to the population.
- The Leuna site is helping finance the reconstruction of the local school's canteen with a €2,500 donation.
