ForaneĀ® 141b
|
Spray Application
Forane® 141b is not sold in the US.
Forane® 141b is ideal for spray since it is a liquid at atmospheric conditions and has low vapor thermal conductivity. These properties allow the production of easy to process polyurethane chemicals and the production of polyurethane foam with excellent physical properties. See the referenced property and characteristics tables.

Appliance Application
The low vapor thermal conductivity of Forane® 141b makes it ideal for the appliance market. Forane® 141b's low vapor thermal conductivity gives the polyurethane foam insulation the low k-value necessary to achieve the energy consumption requirements. Since Forane® 141b is liquid at atmospheric conditions, it allows for easy processing of the polyurethane chemicals. As a liquid, Forane® 141b also allows for the polyurethane system to achieve optimum flow which ensures that the foam flow will fill and insulate the entire cabinet.

Panel Application
Polyurethane core metal-faced panels are used for construction. Often they are used for walk in refrigerators and freezers and other insulation purposes.
Forane® 141b is an ideal blowing agent for this application. Forane® 141b has a low vapor thermal conductivity that gives the polyurethane core blown with Forane® 141b good insulation value. Additionally, because HCFC 141b is a liquid at atmospheric conditions it allows the foam system to be easily processed and gives good flow properties to the foam. Good flow allows the material to fill the panels uniformly.
