The incubator

Organization using an incubator structure has the advantage of being able to apply to various types of projects, ranging from development of new products and processes to acquisition of start-ups, not to mention management of partnerships with industry and universities.

Arkema’s incubator brings together the development of new, high-potential products such as nanostructured materials (Graphistrength® carbon nanotubes and Nanostrength® block-based copolymers), self-healing rubber developed using control of supramolecular technology, and even new, ever more effective materials to improve the yield of tomorrow’s photovoltaic cells.

Arkema also works to improve sustainable development-oriented processes, one major project of which involves producing acrylic acid from plant matter (glycerol). Arkema’s incubator houses many other projects and is notably working on acquiring high-value-added companies, such as the recent acquisition of OPM, which made Arkema a world leader in the production of polyether ketone ketone (PEKK) products, which are used in many high-tech applications and markets, such as aeronautics, medicine and electronics.

Arkema’s incubator also makes it possible to form many industrial partnerships and to take part in the development of the French and European high-tech industrial fabric, particularly in connection with competitiveness clusters.
